How does the external assessment test (FSP) in Cologne work?
The examination procedure consists of three stages. In the first stage (ÜV1), students take examinations in German and mathematics. German is tested at B2 level, while the mathematics examination covers fundamental mathematical knowledge. Students who successfully complete ÜV1 are admitted to the second stage (ÜV2), in which the subjects of their chosen preparatory course are tested at Abitur level. Students who already hold a recognised C1 German language certificate (telc C1 Hochschule, DSH or TestDaF) may be exempt from the German examination. The third stage is the external assessment test (FSP), in which the relevant subjects are examined in greater depth. We support our students throughout all stages of the examination procedure.
